“Old age is an excellent time for outrage. My goal is to say or do at least one outrageous thing every week.”
Maggie Kuhn quotes (American social Activist, 1905-1995)
I love this quote it epitomises how I will be in old age, a wise but CRAZY old woman. However as I frequented my usual bus home at dinner time today (which at that time of day is generally full to the brim with O.A.P`S) I couldn’t help but feel angry. Why am I angry? because it was plainly obvious by their faces that they’ve pretty much so given up on life in general. Just because your old does not mean you don’t have responsibilities to nurture society, you have less work commitments, less family commitments, why not get on a plane an help to teach children in Africa or nanny children in an orphanage in Bosnia. I am all for respecting your elders, But I realise now why the youth of today dont, youth have given up on old people, because old people have given up on them selves. Old people today are not very good advertisers of what youth have got to look forward to apart from wrinkles and death. I will not give up until my very last dying breath.
