Chapter 1: Baileys Beads
The Earth is roughly 8000 miles in diameter. Imagine if the 8,000 miles were shrunk to the size of a ping-pong ball, or the Earth were one inch in diameter. Then, the moon would be the size of a pea, five feet away. And, the sun would be a ball nine feet in diameter one fifth of a mile away. It is a maddening coincidence that during a total eclipse of the sun, the pea size moon just exactly covers the nine-foot sun. They coincide so closely, that the valleys between the mountains of the moon appear as beads of light, called Bailey’s Beads around the circumference of the black disk of the moon. This particular phenomenon has only happened during one period in the history of the Earth, as the distance to the moon has been gradually increasing throughout time. The timing just so happens to coincide with the arrival of man on the planet…(Hunter, D. 2008)
I found The Book of Daleth by Dale Hunter randomly while at uni one day. After a breif scan of the book I filled it away in the to do at a later date section ( I knew from the breif scan that this book was the type that needed and deserved quality thought and attention which was not possible due to disseratation`s and my crazy4yr old ). Anyway now I have decided to jump in, I will use this blog to review each chapter.
